Bonnie MacDonald
is a native of New York, currently residing in Texas. She
believes her ability to create fine wooden art is partly genetic
in that her grand father was a carpenter. As a child, she wanted
to help him but was sheltered from the manly power tools. Bonnie
has harbored her desire to work with wood throughout her life.
Her entrance into the world of art began late in life, within
the last 7 years. She began constructing small turned items.
Successful with her endeavors, Bonnie soon furnished a complete
studio and began turning platters, bowls and vases and perfected
her basic woodturning techniques.
Bonnie has studied under nationally know as well as
internationally know artists. She soon began to develop her
"thinking outside the box" approach to wood-turning. Though
educational courses she has learned to incorporate tidbits from
each teacher and has been successful at creating her own unique
expressions of the turned wood form.
Growing from her roots of tradition, Bonnie’s turned wood art is
bold, exciting and charged with beauty and her unique vision. |
